Who is Apexia?

Apexia^® Group, co-founded by Chris Smith and Joshua Stanley, is built on a shared passion for technology and innovation. Having first met online over 13 years ago through video games, Chris and Josh forged a strong partnership that eventually led to the creation of Apexia^®. Their early vision included launching Apexia^® Games, a game hosting service they had always wanted to build.

With extensive experience in IT and infrastructure, they have worked on a diverse range of projects, including broadcasting Premier League football, developing a custom TV playout system for a popular shopping channel on Sky, and building highly available custom e-commerce applications for large-scale events. Their expertise extends beyond software, having designed and deployed custom on-site solutions for events, such as remote WiFi networks and check-in systems to ensure seamless operations.

Their technical capabilities also expanded into immersive experiences, including designing and deploying a custom interactive lighting solution for the Luminate Shugborough Light Trail, blending technology with creativity to enhance visitor engagement.

Expanding their infrastructure, what started with a £30 Dell R320 server from Facebook Marketplace, housed in a shared rack within the Wolverhampton data centre and began as a small experiment quickly evolved, and over the years, they have expanded into two private racks across two UK data centres, building a robust and scalable network. This foundation has enabled them to launch Apexia^® Cloud - a hosting platform designed to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure solutions for businesses of all sizes.
